I am back in Chengdu, after a grueling 12-1/2 hour bus ride from Jiuzhaigou. There was construction that caused a 1-1/2 hour delay.
This morning, I visited the Chengdu Panda Research Base, where they are working on breeding Pandas to increase the population, which has fallen to 1000 animals.

The research base has a number of enclosures that house pandas at various stages of development. The enclosures are nice and large, so the pandas are probably happy there. The size of the research base will be tripled soon, too.
They also have some Red Pandas.

Children on a school trip to see the pandas.

Which is cuter? The pandas, or the children going to see the pandas?
